The Caney Creek Volunteer Fire Department is a Combination career/volunteer department. While we have a paid duty crew to cover the day times while our volunteer members are at work, we rely heavily on volunteers of all skill levels both firefighting and non-firefighting to cover our service area. If you have a desire to give something back to the community in which you live, consider volunteering.
Requirements:

2. Valid Texas Drivers License.
3. Must live within M.C.E.S.D. #9 District.
4. Complete a background check through Montgomery County Fire Marshall's Office.
To Apply:
1. Stop by Station 81 (Grangerland, across from Caney Creek High) or Station 82 (In the Lone Star Ranch Subdivision) and pick up an application.
2. Complete application and return to the station you picked it up from.
3. During this process attend Monday night training sessions.
4. Interview with the officers of the Department.
You may say, “I do not have any experience!”
We say, That's OK. As a volunteer you will be completely trained by the Caney Creek Volunteer Fire Department Instructors who have years of experience and knowledge under their belts. You will gain the knowledge and experience that you will need to be a firefighter.
Or you may ask, Why should I put the time in to volunteer?”
We respond simply: Self-satisfaction and the knowledge to help in an emergency. One of the most common reasons for volunteering that firefighters mention is the self-satisfaction they feel by giving back to their community.
The fire service offers you opportunities. As a member you can opt to also become a member of the fire suppression team or become certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Many times the training needed to obtain certifications in either/both areas are paid for by the department.
Firefighters are depended on to respond to calls for emergency help at a moments notice. Be the person who makes a difference in someone's life.
For more information about becoming a volunteer fire fighter contact the station and ask for any officer or member as they can guide you in the application process.
For any question please come by Station 82 or contact us at (281) 572-1194.
Make a difference in your community, volunteer today!
